How Many Edited Photos Do You Get from a Hanoi Vacation Shoot?
By the Hanoi Photoshoot team · 2026-11-06
A typical vacation portrait session in Hanoi with Cáo Studio produces 40–80 edited photos, depending on whether you book a 1-hour, 2-hour or half-day shoot. A 1-hour session usually yields 30–50 keepers; 2 hours gives 50–80; half-day (4 hours) can reach 100–150. Editing takes 5–10 working days after the shoot. The count depends on: how many outfit changes you do, how many locations we visit, how many poses we try per look, and weather (indoor backup shoots add frames). We shoot RAW and edit every keeper for colour, exposure and skin tone—no bulk batch work. Ask us for a quote on WhatsApp to confirm gallery size for your session type and brief. What Happens Between Shoot Day and Your Gallery?
Our editing workflow is the same for every session: RAW import, culling (picking keepers from 300–600 raw frames per hour), colour grading, exposure correction, blemish removal, and a final review pass. We don't deliver unselected raw files or contact sheets—only polished JPEGs and high-res TIFFs ready for printing or social media. Hanoi Photoshoot by Cáo Studio edits in Hanoi, not offshore, so quality is consistent and revisions are fast. Turnaround is 5–10 working days, slower in high season (October–November, March–April) when we have back-to-back shoots. If you need rush delivery (2–3 days), ask us on WhatsApp—there is a surcharge.

How Does Session Length Affect Your Final Count?
Longer sessions mean more outfit changes, more locations and more poses per outfit, so the math is straightforward. A 1-hour solo travel portraits shoot at one location (say, Hoan Kiem Lake) typically includes one outfit and 2–3 pose sequences = 30–50 edited frames. A 2-hour session lets you move to two locations and change once = 50–80 frames. A half-day shoot (4 hours) covers 3–4 locations, 2–3 outfit changes, and deep posing work = 100–150 frames. This assumes good light and no weather delays. Rain or cloud cover doesn't stop us, but it can mean reshooting or moving indoors, which adds time but not necessarily frame count.
Why Does Hanoi's Season Affect Editing Time?
October through November is peak season in Hanoi—cool, dry light, perfect for outdoor shoots. Our calendar fills 6–8 weeks ahead, and editing queues extend. A shoot booked in late October might not be edited until day 10–12. March–April is also busy (spring festivals, pre-summer weddings). January–February and June–August are slower; you'll get edits in 5–7 working days. Weather also matters: if a shoot is partly rained out and rescheduled, the edit slot shifts. Plan to give yourself 2–3 weeks between shoot day and when you need final files. If you're booking a vacation photographer for a tight itinerary, discuss timeline on WhatsApp before booking.
What Do You Do with Blurry, Unflattering or Duplicate Shots?
We cull ruthlessly. Blurry frames (motion blur, missed focus) are discarded. Unflattering poses—closed eyes, poor angle, mid-blink—are removed. Near-duplicates (same pose, slightly different expression) are reduced to the best one or two per set. This is why edited gallery counts vary: two people in the same 1-hour session might get 35 and 48 photos, not 40 and 40. We err on quality over quantity. If a pose is technically strong but you dislike how you look, we can swap it for a similar frame from the same set, or offer a light re-pose if time allows. Every gallery is reviewed with you before final export—we don't push "filler" shots.

What Should You Know Before You Book?
Before confirming your session, clarify these points:
- Session length: 1 hour (1 location, 1 outfit) vs. 2 hours (2 locations, 1–2 outfits) vs. half-day (3–4 locations, 2–3 outfits)?
- Locations: Do you have 2–3 Hanoi spots in mind (e.g., Old Quarter, lakeside, heritage site), or do you want us to choose based on light and season?
- Outfits: How many outfit changes do you plan? Each change adds 15–25 frames.
- Editing style: Do you prefer warm, cool or natural colour grades? This doesn't change frame count, but it affects the look of your gallery.
- Delivery format: Do you need print-ready TIFFs, web JPEGs, or both?
- Turnaround deadline: If you need files within 5 days, confirm availability and any rush fee.
Comparison of typical session outcomes:
| Session Type | Duration | Locations | Outfit Changes | Estimated Edited Frames |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Quick portrait (Old Quarter) | 1 hour | 1 | 1 | 30–50 |
| Extended stroll + lunch break | 2 hours | 2 | 1–2 | 50–80 |
| Half-day cultural immersion | 4 hours | 3–4 | 2–3 | 100–150 |
| Full-day (rare; special requests) | 6–8 hours | 4–5+ | 3–4+ | 150–200+ |
The half-day option is popular with international visitors who want depth without exhaustion. You get breakfast at a local café (we don't arrange this, but we know good quiet spots), multiple outfit changes, and time to relax between locations.
How Does Editing Philosophy Differ for Different Shoot Types?
Ao dai photoshoots receive extra care on fabric texture and silk sheen—we preserve the ao dai's beauty without over-processing. Couple shoots focus on connection and light symmetry across both faces. Family shoots prioritize everyone's skin tone and expression clarity across group frames. Pre-wedding shots often ask for a softer, more romantic grade. Each shoot type has a slight edit flavour, but all follow our core principle: enhance truth, don't invent it. A blurry background stays blurry. A wrinkle in fabric is visible if it is visible. We don't airbrush or fake light sources. This honesty is why clients trust the final images to feel authentic to their Hanoi trip.
Can You Reduce or Increase the Frame Count?
Yes. If you want a tighter edit (only the absolute best 20–30 frames), you can request a "highlight" gallery for a lower fee than full session editing. Ask us on WhatsApp. If you want more frames, you can extend your session length or book a second shoot a few days later. Some clients do a 1-hour headshots session in the morning at our studio, then a 2-hour Instagram photoshoot later in the afternoon at scenic Hanoi locations—the two galleries combine to 80–120 frames across both styles. There's no hidden cost per frame; pricing is by session duration and location complexity, not by image count. Frame count is a natural output, not a product you can dial up or down independently.

FAQ
Is 50 photos too many or too few for a vacation trip?
50 edited images gives you 2–3 weeks of strong social posts, 15–20 print-worthy shots, and plenty of variety to relive your Hanoi moments. Most solo travellers find this ideal. If you want fewer but more curated frames, ask for a highlight edit.
Can I see sample galleries from past Hanoi shoots?
Yes. Contact us on WhatsApp and we'll share a link to 3–4 anonymous galleries from similar sessions (same location, season, session length). We don't publish client photos without permission, so we keep samples password-protected.
What if I hate a whole outfit's photos? Do I get a re-shoot?
We'll show you the unedited selects before final export. If an entire outfit set is genuinely unusable (bad light, poor angles despite posing cues), we can offer a half-hour re-shoot within 2 weeks at no extra charge. This is rare; most "I don't like this outfit" issues resolve by choosing the strongest 2–3 frames from that set rather than every frame.
How long do you keep the RAW files?
We archive RAW files for 12 months after delivery. After 12 months, files are deleted to manage storage. If you need additional edits or a re-export 6 months later, we can retrieve the RAW and re-edit. Ask us for a quote on WhatsApp if this applies.
Do you deliver photos during high season (October–November)?
Yes, but turnaround extends to 8–10 working days. If you're visiting Hanoi in late October or November and leaving within 2 weeks, request a rush turnaround on WhatsApp when you book. There is a fee for 2–3 day delivery.
Can I choose which 40 frames from a 100-frame shoot, or do you curate?
We curate. Our edit is our taste: we remove blurry shots, duplicates, and unflattering frames, then grade the keepers consistently. You'll review the final gallery and can request light swaps (e.g., "I prefer the second smile here" or "this angle was stronger"). You can't cherry-pick individual frames from a raw selection—that's a different (and more expensive) service.
